Two-way radios for security companies

Security teams need radios that are private, always ready and discreet in front of the public. The right system depends on whether the team works on one site or patrols across many.

What to look for

Private channels

On PMR446 anyone nearby can listen. Licensed DMR radios use your own assigned frequency, and PoC uses a closed platform, so conversations stay within your team.

Discreet audio

An earpiece with an inline PTT keeps radio traffic away from guests and customers and leaves both hands free.

One site or many

On one site (a mall, a hotel, a port) a DMR system covers the area. For patrol cars and guards spread across a city, PoC over 4G connects everyone.

Programmed and supported

We programme channels or talk groups before delivery, so new staff get a radio that works the same as everyone else's.

Setup tips

  1. Give each post or shift its own channel or talk group, and keep one shared channel for emergencies.
  2. Label radios and chargers by post; it makes shift handovers faster and keeps batteries in rotation.
  3. Order earpieces with the radios. Plugs differ by model, and we will match them for you.

Good to know before you buy

  • A DMR system needs an EETT frequency assignment before use. Allow time for the application.
  • PoC depends on mobile coverage and has a monthly platform cost per radio.
  • PMR446 radios are not private. Use them only where that is acceptable.

Questions people ask

DMR or PoC for a security company?

DMR when the team works mainly on one site and you want your own system with no per-radio monthly fee. PoC when guards and patrol cars are spread over a city or the whole country. Many companies use both.

Can you supply radios for a single event?

Contact us with the dates, number of people and the venue. For short events licence-free PMR446 radios are often the simplest option.

Not sure which radio to pick?

Tell us how many people need to talk, where, and how far apart. Our team in Thessaloniki replies with a recommendation and, for businesses, a written quote.
