Two-way radios for hotels, hospitality and retail
Reception, housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen and floor staff must talk instantly, without guests overhearing. Here is what matters when you choose radios for a hotel or a shop.
- Authorised Motorola Solutions dealer
- Kirisun PoC distributor for Greece & Cyprus
- Programming and setup
- Support from Thessaloniki since 2001
What to look for
Discreet audio
With a D-shell or acoustic tube earpiece the audio goes only to the staff member's ear. Guests do not hear the shift's conversations.
Coverage across floors and basements
Concrete and lift shafts block the signal. In small and medium buildings a good PMR446 radio is usually enough; large complexes or several buildings need DMR with a repeater.
Battery for a whole shift
A rechargeable Li-ion battery and a desk charger for each radio, so every shift picks up charged radios.
Groups per department
Separate channels for reception, housekeeping and maintenance, plus a shared channel for emergencies. We set them up before delivery.

- Test coverage at the difficult spots (basement, kitchen, pool) before ordering the whole fleet. Ask us about a trial radio.
- Check that the earpiece plug fits your radio. Send us the model and we will tell you the right accessory.
- Give channels clear names and keep one spare radio per shift.
Good to know before you buy
- PMR446 channels are shared. If there is another hotel or shop next door, change channel or code so you do not hear each other.
- Earpieces are personal items. For hygiene, give each staff member their own.
- In very large complexes, a DMR repeater with an EETT licence is often the only way to full coverage.
Questions people ask
Do hotel radios need a licence?
No, if they are PMR446, like the Motorola XT420 and XT460. DMR on your own frequencies needs an EETT assignment.
How many radios do I need?
One for each staff member on shift who needs to talk, plus a spare. Tell us your departments and shifts and we will send a proposal.
Can you programme the radios before delivery?
Yes. We set channels, codes and names so the fleet is ready to use.

Not sure which radio to pick?
Tell us how many people need to talk, where, and how far apart. Our team in Thessaloniki replies with a recommendation and, for businesses, a written quote.
